High Wind Warning, Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Hingham

The NWS is expecting wind gusts between 50 and 65 mph and some snow.

HINGHAM, MA - It may be spring but Sunday is going to feel a lot like winter.

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning and Winter Weather Advisory for Plymouth County. The warning is in effect from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday while the advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. the same day.

The NWS says to expect a northwest wind of 25 to 35 mph with gusts between 50 and 65 mph during Sunday morning and afternoon. There is the potential for tree damage along with scattered power outages and some localized property damage.

For the advisory, a one to three hour period of heavy snow with near whiteout conditions is possible. The area could see one to four inches of snow with a low possibility of five to six inches in isolated areas.

Rain will start after midnight, changing to snow between 3 and 7 p.m., with possibly a rumble or two of thunder, according to the NWS. The snow will end by late morning.
