Malden Police Department's Three New Student Officers

ICYMI: The new recruits have begun their official training at the Randolph Police Academy.

MALDEN, MA - Cameron DiCarlo, Kenneth Watkins and David Yung were recently sworn in as student officers, according to city officials.

  • DiCarlo: Lives in Everett, and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise as a machinist supervising 10 junior sailors.
  • Watkins: Lives in the city, and is a graduate of Malden Catholic High School. He has worked as a Malden Police Cadet for several years.
  • Yung: Lives in the city, and has also served as a Malden Police Cadet for several years. He is fluent in Cantonese.

The new recruits have begun their official training at the Randolph Police Academy.

City officials were on hand for the ceremony, including Mayor Gary Christenson, Police Commissioner Salvatore “Butch” Gennetti, Police Chief Kevin Molis and Police Capt. Glenn Cronin. The families of the city’s newest student officers were also present.

“I’m very pleased to welcome our new student officers to the Department and I have no doubt they will be a great addition to our Department,” said Mr. Christenson in a statement.
