Mansfield Man Accused Of Stabbing Neighbor Appears In Court: Police

MANSFIELD, MA — A Mansfield man will be in court after police say he stabbed his neighbor during an altercation outside their apartment complex.

Jason Moore, 39, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Early Friday morning, Mansfield police received a call from a man at 23 Francis Avenue at 3 a.m. saying he had been stabbed by his neighbor. He told police his neighbor had been following him as he walked to the parking lot of the apartment complex.

The 43-year-old victim was treated in the parking lot, and he was able to provide police with a description of the man who he said attacked him. Police say he suffered a single stab wound to the abdomen and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were able to find the neighbor in question in the complex, and Moore was arrested without incident after a K9 was able to find the knife used in the assault, officers said.

Mansfield police called the attack an isolated incident and that the public has no need to worry.

Moore will be arraigned Friday in Attleboro District Court.
