Friends of the Marlborough Public Library Announce Concert

From the Friends of the Marlborough Public Library:

The Friends of the Marlborough Public Library are pleased to present a “2016 Fall Oktoberfest Concert” featuring the TubaFrau Hofbrau Band on Wednesday, Oct. 12th at 7 p.m. This is the second concert of The Friends 2016-17 Yacyshn Concert Series chaired by Leslie Havens, in this their 47th Season.

The TubaFrau Hofbrau Band is a lively traditional German “oompah” band that will perform an Oktoberfest themed concert with German, Swiss, Austrian and Bavarian music which includes polkas, waltzes, marches, gallops, schottisches, landlers and other lively dance music. The band will also do some sing-alongs and even feature the Alpine horn in some of their musical selections.

The TubaFrau Hofbrau Band consists of Anne Kelton, clarinet; David Jobst, tenor sax and clarinet; Kathy Matasy, accordion & clarinet; Adam Mejaouer, trumpet; Leslie McEvoy, trumpet; Caroline Cardiasmenos, trombone; Leslie Havens, tuba and Rick Hanson, drums.

This program will take place in the Bigelow Auditorium at the Marlborough Public Library located at 35 West Main Street, Marlborough. Admission is free and open to the public and the auditorium is fully handicapped accessible.

This program is funded and sponsored in part by the Ezra Cutting Trust-Bank of America Trustee; the Marlborough Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency; The Friends Memorial Fund; a gift from the Cummings Foundation in honor of Ginger Ryan and the Brigham Family Trust.
