Austin Prep Student Invited To Perform At Carnegie Hall

Michael Saracco of Melrose will perform Tenor 1 with the Honors Concert Choir on February 7 at the famed Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Michael Saracco of Melrose will sing on stage at the famed Carnegie Hall in New York City as part of the 2016 High School Honors Performance Series.

He will perform Tenor 1 with the Honors Concert Choir on Sunday, February 7 at 2:00 pm.

Michael, a junior at Austin Preparatory School in Reading, auditioned and was selected for the honor from among 18,000 nominations. Only 750 of the most talented student performers are chosen, according to the series’ program director.

“I am very honored and humbled to have this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform in New York City at a world renowned venue like Carnegie Hall, and to get the chance to meet other musicians from across the world,” Michael said.

He will have the opportunity to learn from esteemed conductors, including the famous Dr. Jeffery Ames, and will perform in one of the five Honors Ensembles. He will spend five days in New York sightseeing and rehearsing before the Sunday concert.

Michael is a member of the Austin Prep Chorus and has studied music for 10 years. He is also a member of the Boston Children’s Theatre Show Choir, and has appeared regionally and professionally in theatrical productions.
