Flour Bakery To Run Melrose Pop Up

Flour Bakery and Cafe has grown to include 10 locations in the Boston area. It will come to Melrose for one day only in mid-October.

MELROSE, MA — Boston's Flour bakery is coming to Melrose in a matter of weeks for a planned pop-up shop, according to a recent announcement.

Flour will set up at Buckalew’s General Store on Saturday, Oct. 15 in Melrose. Buckalew’s is located at 529 Main St. The Flour pop-up will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., selling boxes of pastries, build-your-own sandwich packages and more.

Some proceeds from the event will go to Melrose’s Hoover Elementary School, as noted in Flour’s event announcement.

“Get your Flour fix without making the trek into the city!” Flour said in advertising this event.

Flour launched in the South End in 2000. It has since grown to add nine additional locations in the Boston area. The full Flour menu ranges from traditional pastries to savory options such as tofu noodle boles and a chicken tiki masala naan sandwich.

Pastry chef and co-owner Joanne Chang leads Flour.

She recently spoke to the publication Shondaland, saying her mission with Flour is to make people feel happy.

“I want people to feel important,” she told the publication.
