Boston Celtics and YMCA of Metro North Nets a Slam-Dunk Partnership
Exciting Junior Celtics League launches, bringing premier basketball training and opportunities to young athletes in the Metro North
The YMCA of Metro North is excited to announce the opening of registration for its new Junior Celtics League, a collaborative program designed to inspire young athletes to develop their basketball skills while promoting the values of teamwork, respect, and healthy competition. Registration will open in August for participants of all skill levels, providing a unique opportunity for young players to participate in a professional and fun-filled environment.
The Junior Celtics League is a partnership with the Boston Celtics, aimed at offering an exceptional basketball experience to the youth in the community. The program is twelve weeks and will run from November 11, 2024, to February 16, 2025, across the various YMCA of Metro North locations. Participants will learn from experienced coaches, engage in skill-building drills, and compete in games emphasizing sportsmanship and fair play.
To ensure that each participant receives coaching, and competition suited to their age and skill level, the league will be organized into various age and skill groups. The program invites children aged five to thirteen to compete, offering a comprehensive experience tailored to their developmental stages. This structure provides a valuable opportunity for the youth to enhance their skills both on and off the court. This approach ensures that all participants can grow and develop their abilities in a supportive and challenging environment.
