Bill Miskin, Owner of Home Instead says, “Polly is a wonderful, kind person who our team loves working with. We have a terrific relationship with The Fitch Home and executive Director Maria Haggerty, working closely together to provide some extra care that some of their residents might need from time to time.”

Polly is a first generation Irish American and grew up in the Oak Grove Section of Malden and attended the Cheverus Grammar and Malden High School. She spent 43 years working for the John Hancock office in Malden and capped her final decade as the Office Supervisor, which was a management role reserved for men.

Polly has always had an eye for fashion - a fashionista well before people were using the term! She believes having the right outfits gave her the confidence to be the John Hancock Malden Office Supervisor which was home base for over 100 agents.

She and her 2 sisters, Barbara and Mary, spent a great deal of time together finding ways to keep busy. When Polly was young, some of her happiest memories are from Fourth of July celebrations with foot races, the parade and homemade strawberry ice cream.

She and her sister Mary loved the beach. They would take the bus to Hampton and later drove to Good Harbor in Gloucester often sweet talking the car park attendant to squeeze in one more car.

Polly and Mary moved into the Fitch Home in Melrose, MA on March 1st, 2018 and were roommates until Mary passed at the age of 97 on October 20, 2020.

Birthday cards should be mailed to: Polly’s Birthday Cards, Home Instead Senior Care, 1 Nelson Terrace, Melrose, MA 02176 no later than Monday, February 22nd.
