MELROSE, MA — Melrose residents looking to get rid of their 2022 Christmas trees will have options to do so over the coming weeks.

The city’s annual Christmas tree collection program is back this year, running between Jan. 3 and Jan. 13. Trees must be placed curbside without a bag, lights, ornaments or other decorations. Trees will be collected on residents’ regular trash and recycling days, as noted on the city’s website.

Residents can alternatively drop off their trees at the Melrose City Yard between Jan. 3 and Jan. 13 during regular open recycling hours, which run on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
