MELROSE, MA – The Melrose Mayor’s Office issued a letter of apologize to the Melrose community Monday afternoon after letters educating Melrose households about energy efficiency were sent to residents at incorrect addresses.

About 7,000 letters from HomeWorks Energy, a Mass Save and Melrose partner, were sent using Mayor Paul Brodeur’s stationery to encourage residents to participate in the Melrose Energy Challenge.

Unfortunately, an error at the mailing house used by HomeWorks Energy caused letters to be sent to residents at incorrect addresses in some cases, the mayor’s office said.
