Melrose Storm: Outages, Trash Schedules, More
Check out the latest on how the City is handling the storm.
MELROSE, MA — School never really stood a chance, but Melrose finally called it - in some cases long after surrounding cities. The rest of the City is a bit more touch-and-go.
According to a Thursday morning update from the City:
- The Council on Aging is closed.
- The Melrose Public Library and City Hall are open, but power issues are affecting phone lines and computers. Call the City Yard Storm Center at 781-665-0142 with any problems or questions.
- Trash and recycling pickup will be delayed by one day: Today’s trash will be picked up tomorrow, and Friday’s will be picked up on Saturday.
- Some traffic signals around town are out as more than 400 households across the city remain without power. The Police Station has had power restored.
- Remember that Patch (and your local soon-to-be snowbound reporter) will have updates on things like school closings, power outages, and more - as well as some interesting local stories. Subscribe here for free updates, and email me at [email protected] with any questions, photos, or stories!
