The following was submitted by Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jennifer Manning:

The Melrose Chamber of Commerce and Presenting Sponsor The Residence at Melrose Station were thrilled to host the 8th Annual Summer Stroll on July 30th - another wonderful evening in Melrose.

The Melrose Chamber of Commerce gratefully acknowledges the support of Mayor Paul Brodeur and his staff, the Melrose Police Department, the Melrose Fire Department and the Department of Public Works. Support from these departments makes the Summer Stroll possible, as well as safe and enjoyable for all.

The Melrose Messina Fund for the Arts and members of the Chamber provided the financial support that allowed us to offer live music in four different locations this year and it is with sincerest gratitude that we thank: Presenting Event Sponsor The Residence at Melrose Station; Music Sponsors: Bell & Izzi, Eastern Bank, Evolved Mechanical, Melrose Glass Company, Pixee App and 128 Plumbing Heating Cooling & Electric. We are fortunate to have the MMFA and these businesses supporting many cultural events in Melrose.

The Chamber is extremely appreciative for the many people who contributed their talents to the Stroll and made the evening memorable: Entertainment Director and Melrose resident Tim Kochanski (“Tim Ko”), for his time and energy to create a fun lineup of music. We thank the talented musicians who kept the crowds entertained: Blue of a Kind; Johnny O & Marianne + Diana; Silverwood Duo; Charles and Chloe Dimmick; Onset Music School; The Coyne Family; Brian and Carol; and TIMKO & Co. We also thank our Stroll magician, Phil Smith of Abracadabra Productions.

The Chamber expresses our sincerest gratitude to the downtown business owners and their staff for their participation and support of the Stroll. You are among some of the hardest working individuals we know, and we all remain grateful for your dedication to our community.

To the hundreds of event goers who attended this year’s Stroll, patronized our downtown businesses and made the event so spectacular – thank you for coming to the event! Please continue to shop, dine and do business locally as often as you can.

In closing, I personally thank the Melrose Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for their support of this Chamber event and for their continued dedication to our organization. I also thank my colleague at the Chamber, Kelly Lecomte, for all of her work, and the laughs, that happen behind the scenes in planning the Stroll.

We’ll see you all again soon at the Victorian Fair on Sunday, September 12th!
