Melrose 2022 Yard Waste Collection Ends Soon

The last round of 2022 yard waste collection is set for this week.

MELROSE, MA — Melrose yard waste collection is ongoing. But time is running out for area residents interested in utilizing this year’s iteration of the city program.

The final round of yard waste collection is scheduled to take place this week between Nov. 28 and Dec. 2.

Yard waste collection runs annually, with 2022 pickup dates beginning in April to continue into this week.

Residents can place up to 10 labeled yard waste bags/barrels at their curb each week for removal. Residents should place their yard waste on their curb by 7 a.m. on their normal waste pickup day.

Waste pickup is back on its normal schedule this week after a planned one day delay last week due to Thanksgiving.

While curbside yard waste collection for 2022 is ending this week, Melrose residents can still drop their yard waste off year-round at the city yard at 72 Tremont St.

The city yard will shift to its winter schedule beginning this weekend, dropping Saturday hours for the winter months until April of next year.

The winter schedule is as follows:

  • Monday: 7:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 7:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
  • Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
