How much snow did Melrose get on Christmas?

MELROSE, MA — It was indeed a White Christmas, and for many the snow ended early enough so that it didn't ruin holiday plans.

The National Weather Service had an unofficial report saying Melrose got 2.5 inches of snow by 10:12 a.m. The Mayor's blog reported the the sanders and salters were out since 6 a.m., starting with hills and churches before moving into neighborhoods.

There were no parking restrictions since it was Christmas.

The plow made it down the street of the Melrose Patch nerve center around 12:30, and most main streets were good driving before noon.
