by Shirley Rabb

It's May WOW, this is great...watch us go by starting the month and celebrating Cinco D' Mayo on ..May 5th.

We headed out to Wakefield and enjoy the holiday at Tequilas restaurant.

Although there were only four of us; there are a few members on the medical list and a few that had grandchildren functions.

On May 7th. we once again spent time with Sheryl Faye at the Melrose Senior Center. Most of our group have seen Sheryl perform many of her portrayals of Historic Women, and some times more than once. This performance Sheryl became Queen Elizabeth; and once again although we have seen this show, it always amazes us that there is always something different and new to see.

As Erica introduced Sheryl she caught her still testing the mike. From that point it went from childhood to Queen and even when, as a princess she served during the 2nd world war.

There are about 20 dress changes and in the audience you rarely notice what is right in front of you as you watch and listen.

It is always a wonderful educational and fun show to attend.

Quick stop at Liberty Bell for early dinner (or late lunch) and we proclaimed that it was a great day.

May 11th and we headed for Cider Hill Tulip Festival. It was a beautiful day and the tulips were outstanding although a little late in the season. The colors and shapes stood out in the sunshine and made us smile.

We walked to the Farm store to get our cider donuts and looked around at everything available.

The store had pastries, produce, ice cream, gift items and many types of cheeses. We did get to sample some sage cheese which was very good. After having a donuts, or two,we headed out to lunch.

Today it was the Rusty Can restaurant in Byfield. It has been a while since our last visit here and the menu has changed a bit, but nothing stops us with changes.

The Brisket is the best around and you can see that it was a treat to try and take home for a few more meals. The good old fashion bologna sub was enough to get doggie bags also.

We topped of our meals with Pecan Pie and we were Happy Red Hatters.

ON May 28th. we headed to Tuckaway Tavern in Raymond New Hampshire for their Monday and Tuesday specials. Buy one lobster roll with two sides and get one combination Free. Not tiny hot dog rolls but hot dog rolls filled to the brim with a quarter of a pound wonderful, tasty happy food lobster.

Patiently waiting for the full meal , and then of course boxes to go.

Always a fun place to go and enjoy the joys of summer.

Another month of happy Red Hat days and great memories.
