After 25 Years On Route 1, It's The Final Chapter For Barnes & Noble

Barnes & Noble, which said its landlord will redevelop the site, is looking for another location to continue in Saugus.

SAUGUS, MA — Barnes & Noble on Route 1 will be closing in January after its landlord opted against renewing the lease, the book retailer told customers in a recent message.

The bookstore, which has been in business in Saugus for well over two decades, will close Jan. 23.

"We have truly enjoyed serving our customers in Saugus for the past 25 years and would have loved to have continued for many more," Barnes & Noble said.

Barnes & Noble is looking for another location to continue in Saugus, asking customers to send ideas to [email protected] with "Saugus" in the subject line.

Barnes & Noble said Black Creek Group will redevelop the site at Staples Plaza.
