Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Melrose

Severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour are expected in the area.

MELROSE, MA - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Melrose and Middlesex County until 5 p.m. Thursday night.

The National Weather Service says doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour. The storm was moving east at 35 miles per hour.

These storms are expected to produce damaging winds and large hail. The NWS is warning residents to stay indoors and away from windows. Drivers should prepare for low visibility and avoid flooded roads.
