$7.6 Million Property Sale In Milford Closes Hyundai Dealership Deal

MILFORD, MA — The McGovern Automotive Group acquisition of the Imperial Hyundai dealership in Milford closed recently with the sale of a handful of properties for $7.6 million, according to property records.

An LLC associated with Newton-based McGovern took possession of properties including the 158 East Main St. Hyundai dealership on June 28. McGovern announced the plans to buy the dealership from Imperial Cars owner Kevin Meehan in January, but did not disclose a purchase price.

Properties included in the sale include 149, 151, 151-1/2, 153, 154, 157 and 159 East Main St. Those properties are located on both sides of East Main between Route 109 and South Free Street, according to Worcester County property records.

McGovern has said it plans to keep the Milford dealership under the Hyundai brand, and may hire up to 20 more employees. The auto dealer is one of the largest in the Northeast, with close to 40 dealerships in New England and New York.
