MILFORD, MA — Milford's 2022 curbside leaf collection began on Monday and will run until early December.

The Milford Highway Department started the pickup on Halloween, with new neighborhoods getting leaf pickup each week through Dec. 9. Leaves should be placed curbside by the Monday of your collection week.

During pickup, town crews will scoop up piles of leaves placed at the curbside. That means at the edge of the sidewalk or at your property line. The town is warning residents not to block sidewalks, and not to put leaves in the street or gutter. The town will also not accept bagged leaves.

The town uses trucks fitted with large vacuums to suck up leaves — so that means residents may not include sticks, large branches, rocks or any other type of waste in the leaf piles.

If you miss leaf pickup, the town dropoff center along Fiske Mill Road will be open Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 4 p.m.; Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
