MILFORD, MA — The 12-year anniversary of the unsolved killing of a Milford man passed on Monday, and investigators used the occasion to remind the public they're still on the case.

Jose Mendes, 45, was found dead in his 322 Main St. home on July 8, 2012. Milford police found him after a friend of Mendes reported that he might have died of a drug overdose. But the death was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner.

"It’s a pretty tough scene. I can't really say anything more than that," Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. told the Milford Daily News in 2023.
