2nd Annual Charles River Panorama Hunter Pace

After last year's immensely popular and greatly enjoyed hunter pace, on Sunday, August 21, 2022, the Norfolk Hunt Club is conducting the 2nd Annual Charles River Panorama Hunter Pace. This will begin and finish at Medfield State Hospital, Hospital Road, Medfield, MA. First teams out
at 7:30 a.m. with the last rider departing at 12:00 noon. The route will be similar to last year but for a new experience will be ridden in a reverse, clockwise direction in the shape of a giant "figure 8."

This is the second hunter pace that Norfolk Hunt Club will be holding this year; a third pacer is scheduled for October 30th in beautiful Westport,Massachusetts.

Panorama features about eight miles of riding trails with tremendous vistas of the Charles River from Medfield, Dover, and Sherborn. Historic and incredibly beautiful properties such as
Leverett Saltonstall Farm, George Lewis Estate, Rocky Narrows, and Charles River Gateway are included on this unique riding experience that horseback riders of all levels and types will not want to miss!

The Charles River Panorama will be held in a picturesque intersection of Medfield, Dover, and Sherborn following along both sides of the Charles River where many trails have been used for hundreds of years by Native Americans, horseback riders, and hikers. It will include a little
surprise that's seldom ridden called the "Esker Trail" from the geologic history of the area.
Teams of up to five rider/horse pairs compete in one of three divisions: first flight (jumping), second flight (flats), and hilltoppers (slower pace flats). All divisions encounter 12 - 15 inviting fences, log jumps, and stone walls not to exceed 3' 6" in height. A way around all obstacles is available, and riders in each division can bypass jumps at their own discretion.
