Aly Raisman Promotes Empowerment In Nude Photoshoot For SI

Needham's Aly Raisman will be back on the pages of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue this year, and this time it will be with a message of empowerment.

A photo from the issue posted by Raisman shows the Olympic medalist nude, with several phrases across her body including, "Women do not have to be modest to be respected" and "Every voice matters."

She added in an Instagram post, "Everyone should feel comfortable expressing themselves however makes them happy. Women can be intelligent, fierce, sexy, powerful, strong, advocate for change while wearing what makes them feel best. The time where women are taught to be ashamed of their bodies is OVER. The female body is beautiful and we should all be proud of who we are, inside and out."

The photo spread is part of the swimsuit issue's In Her Own Words project, which has athletes expressing their voices through the raw words on their naked bodies and working with an all-female crew.
