NEEDHAM, MA — Substance abuse, vaping, and addiction disorders — these issues can sometimes be hard for parents to notice with their teens. The Substance Prevention Alliance of Needham wants to help parents and teachers, and other caregivers see the signs of at-risk behavior before its too late. The group sponsored "Hidden in Plain Sight," and interactive exercise to do just that.

From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, all adults 21 and older are invited to the Rosemary Recreation Complex at 178 Rosemary Street to explore an interactive display of a teenager's bedroom.

The display, "contains common items that can hide substances, and helps parents to spot signs of at-risk behavior in their teens," SPAN writes on their event flier. " Visitors will receive education about substance use from trained volunteers followed by a tour of the model bedroom."
