NEEDHAM, MA — With members as young as 10, "The Tapples," are already working on their dream of bringing rock 'n roll back to the masses. Back in March, the group of Needham kids consisting of Riley Zakarian, 13, Sam Doff, 12, Liam King, 12, Arie Shalita, 13, and Avery Zakarian, 10, recorded their first album album, "Bus Recovery."

The band recorded the album at Woolly Mammoth Sound studio in Waltham, recording four original songs: "Glimpse," "October Sky," "Freedom,"and "Aftermath." The band learned a lot about the recording process, and were excited to see what their music sounded like in a professional studio.

"It's amazing," lead guitarist Riley Zakarian said. "Not only did I learn so much about the recording process, but to be able to do it while recording my band's own album was truly incredible."

'The Tapples," formed five years ago when they made their debut at the Hillside Elementary School talent show. Since then, they've played plenty of benefit concerts throughout Needham and even played the annual fundraiser for "The Ryan Richards Foundation" in Falmouth.

The group's next full band show is at 5 p.m., Saturday, June 15 at the Needham VFW for Needham's "Plugged In" benefit concert. But Riley Zakarian and lead singer Doff will get the music started a day earlier.
