NEEDHAM, MA — Another Needham business announced its closure before the year ends. Stacy's Juicebar plans on closing its doors in Needham after Thanksgiving.

Stacy's Juicebar, located at 1257 Highland Avenue, has been in Needham for seven years. The business offers not only specialty juices made from fruits and vegetables, but soups, sandwiches, snacks and smoothies. When the COVID-19 crisis hit, the business was forced to work with a bare-bones crew and switch from juicing to smoothies. The menu was cut back to try to keep inventory down.

"It was difficult across the board, specifically in the beginning," Stacy Madison, owner of Stacy's Juicebar said.

Madison announced the closure on Instagram on Wednesday. Madison said she hopes to stay open until Thanksgiving. Without giving specifics about why the business is closing, Madison wrote that "The timing is right for us to sadly end this chapter of the Juicebar."

Madison expressed her gratitude for the customers and team at Stacy's Juicebar.

"We have been proud to provide a place where people can easily make healthy choices and feel we have achieved this goal. This is our true definition of success," she wrote.

Reminiscing on her time in Needham, Madison summed up the Juicebar's time as "A beautiful seven chapters," and explained the restaurant was more than a place to grab a healthy drink and lunch. "We watched kids grow up," Madison said, "I saw women come in pregnant and now walk in with their kids in first grade."

In the meantime, Madison said the Juicebar will maintain a rotational menu and has frozen quarts of soup, baked goods and packaging items in bulk and is discounting retail goods for customers who want to buy in bulk to stock up. The business is still taking online orders as well as accepting gift cards and free drink cards.

Stacy's Juicebar may be closing its physical doors but Madison hopes it will live on through her new cookbook. The book is still in the works, but Madison said she hopes to start taking pre-orders for the holidays. The cookbook will include smoothies of course, salad dressing recipes, baked good and the much-loved veggie chili.
