NEEDHAM, MA — A pedestrian is seriously injured after a vehicle crashed into a phone pole in Needham, police wrote in a news release Thursday.

The crash occurred just before 11 a.m. near the intersection of Great Plain Avenue and Rivard Road, according to police.

The pedestrian was given emergency treatment on the scene before being taken to the hospital, police said.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene after the crash until they were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to police.

Needham Police, with assistance from The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, are investigating the circumstances of the crash and the driver is fully cooperating, police said.
