Update On Coronavirus From The Town Of Needham And Needham Public Health

Beginning Monday, all individuals age 16 and older in Massachusetts are eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine.

State DPH COVID-19 Numbers

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reports the number of positive cases and deaths daily on the state's COVID-19 dashboard.

Town-specific case numbers are published by the state every Thursday.

  • 1,688 Needham cases to date (4/15/2021). This is an increase of 41 cases since the 4/8/21 report.

NEEDHAM VACCINE UPDATE

All Individuals 16+ Eligible for Vaccine Beginning Monday, April 19th

Beginning Monday, all individuals age 16 and older in Massachusetts are eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Residents can pre-register now to be notified when an appointment is available at one of the state’s mass vaccination or regional vaccination sites. To find other vaccination locations, visit the state’s website. Needham Public Health does not have vaccine and is not offering vaccinations to the public at this time.

With J&J Pause, Town Suspends Homebound Vaccinations

Amid concerns over a rare blood disorder that causes clots and low platelet counts experienced by a small number of people nationwide who have received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, the state, at the federal government’s urging put a pause on all J&J vaccinations. Needham Public Health had planned to offer J&J to homebound residents who met the state’s qualifications. For questions, email [email protected] .
