MA Weather Forecast: Another Heat Wave On Deck?

About an inch of rain is coming, but we've likely got to survive another heat wave first.

Another string of 90-degree days means a repeat heat wave is possible for the latter half of this week, forecasters say. If you survive that, some much-needed rainfall is on deck.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday all look like they may get up past 90, meaning a second heatwave for the Boston, Southeastern Massachusetts and MetroWest areas and a third for the Merrimack Valley area, according to NECN meteorologist Aaron Perry.

The weekend is then expected to bring at least an inch of rain to most of New England. Here's a look at the seven-day rain forecast.

The last time there was a heat wave, it lasted 6-8 days in some parts of the state. Air quality lessened and drought conditions that still plague the Commonwealth were strengthened. There have been pockets of scattered thunderstorms in the past two weeks, but not nearly enough to solve the drought.
