Che Empanada Restaurant To Open 2nd Location In Newton

NEWTON, MA — Che Empanada restaurant will celebrate the grand opening of its second location in Newton on Friday, July 8.

Che Empanada, which first opened in January 2021 at 19 Kelley Square in Worcester, will now also be located at 795 Washington Street in Newtonville.

Che Empanada owner Albie Alvarez-Cote is an immigrant from Argentina who arrived in Newton when she was eight years old. She attended Newton Public Schools and graduated from Newton North High School.

“Che is a Hispanic [and women-] owned business totally funded from my work efforts over the years,” Alvarez-Cote said in an email.

To celebrate the grand opening of the Newton location, Che Empanada is giving away a half-dozen free empanadas for every dozen bought. The offer is valid from July 8 through 31.
