NEWTON, MA — Ellana's Kitchen, a Newton Centre restaurant known for its Venezuelan, Mediterranean, and American Dishes, is closing permanently on Tuesday, June 5.

Owners Isabel and Miguel moved to Massachusetts from Venezuela over two decades ago and opened Ellana’s Kitchen in 2017. The restaurant’s name comes from the last two letters of Isabel and Miguel’s names and their two teenage daughters’ names, Isabella and Ariana, who both attend school in Newton.

According to the restaurant, the owner of the building has a new project for it, forcing Ellana’s Kitchen out. However, there has been no news of the business reopening in a new location.

"With great sadness, we would like to announce that we have decided to permanently close Ellana's Kitchen,” the restaurant owners said in a Facebook post. "Unfortunately, the owner of the building has a new project for it, so we must hand over the premises. After analyzing our options, we think it is our time to complete this period of our lives."

"Since 2017 we have worked with care and love to satisfy your palates,” they continued. "It has been five extraordinary years in which we have dedicated ourselves to cooking with passion and joy. We feel absolutely blessed with all the words of gratitude and motivation from all of you, our customers, friends and family. It has been an unparalleled experience that we will remember fondly and that will indisputably leave a mark on our hearts.”
