FBI Agents Search Newton Home On Fairfield Street

There was a heavy police presence in the Newtonville neighborhood on Wednesday with streets blocked off and items removed from the home.

NEWTON, MA — Newtonville residents dealt with blocked streets and a heavy police process throughout the day on Wednesday as the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted a search of a home on Fairfield Street.

WFXT-TV reported the FBI was conducting what it called "court-authorized law enforcement activity" at 24 Fairfield Street, according to a spokesperson for the law enforcement agency.

Station video showed FBI agents removing items from the home with two large white tents used as a staging area.

The FBI declined to provide more information to local stations about the nature of the search and what was recovered.
