Learning Express Of Newton Seeking New Owners

NEWTON, MA — Learning Express of Newton is seeking new owners as the store’s current owners Rich and Susan Gibson get ready to to retire.

The toy and gift shop has been a staple of Newton Centre since its inception in 1992 and the new owners will have the opportunity to continue the store’s legacy.

“We have been so very blessed to have the privilege of serving our community for over 30 years, and we truly have enjoyed every minute of it,” said the Gibsons in an announcement. “We love this community, and we consider you a friend.”

“Our store is much more than just a business to us, and we will miss the community,” they continued. “We hope our store will offer to someone else what we have been so grateful to have - a place to watch our children learn and grow, build lifelong friendships, and connect with our inner child.”

The Gibsons said Learning Express of Newton had a very strong year in 2021 and the specialty toy industry is not slowing down. In addition, the store’s customer base is currently at the highest level ever.

Founded in 1987, Learning express is the largest toy store company in the United States with 86 locations nationwide. The Newton location includes free parking and a full basement with office and storage space.
