Linda Plaut Newton Festival Of The Arts To Take Place July 22-24

Since 2015, the festival has showcased Newton talent and Newton Cultural Council grant recipients.

NEWTON, MA — Newton Community Pride (NCP) will host the 7th Annual Linda Plaut Newton Festival of the Arts on July 22, 23, and 24 at four different village locations in Waban, Newton Centre, West Newton, and Newton Highlands.

According to organizers, the Newton Festival of the Arts spans many facets of arts and culture, including several genres of music from bluegrass to baroque, classical guitar to R&B, and opera to jazz.

Since 2015, the festival has showcased Newton talent and Newton Cultural Council grant recipients for many artistic organizations and artists.

“This year’s festival is bigger and better than ever,” Gloria Gavris, Board Chair of NCP, said in a statement. "We are excited to expand our offerings of free live music and family programming with an added evening and an additional village stage. There is something for everyone to enjoy!”

The 7th annual Linda Plaut Newton Festival of the Arts is produced by Newton resident Christopher Pitts, presented by The Village Bank, and supported by local businesses, individual donations, and community grant support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and Eversource.

"The city will come alive mid-July with live music, visual arts, dance, storytelling, and poetry,” Gavris said. "We are delighted to showcase regional and local talent and build community through free arts and culture performances. We look forward to the joy music and the arts can bring.”
