NEWTON, MA — A new café, Little Luke’s, is set to open inside The Depot in Newton’s Upper Falls, according to All Over Newton.

The Depot has been vacant for a while, but will welcome the new eatery in the coming months. Phil Emmanuel, owner of Grape Leaf Newton, is behind Little Luke’s.

Emmanuel grew up in Newton Highlands as one of eight children. His mother was widowed when he was 10 years old, and his late older brother, Luke, took many of his father’s responsibilities.

The new café is affectionately named after Emmanuel’s brother, who was nicknamed "Little Luke" by his brother's friends.
