Newton Triple Murder Suspect Pleads Not Guilty To Charges: Report

NEWTON, MA – The man charged in the Newton triple homicide that claimed three elderly victims appeared in court on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to those charges, reports WCVB.

Christopher Ferguson, 41, of Newton was arraigned on one count of murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily harm, and burglary in connection with Sunday’s triple homicide.

Ferguson was ordered to be held without bail.

The three elderly victims were identified as Gilda D’Amore, 73, her husband Bruno D’Amore, 74, and Gilda’s mother, Lucia Arpino, 97.

They were discovered around 10:14 a.m. Sunday morning by a family friend after they did not show up for mass at Our Lady of Help of Christians.

The victims had suffered stab wounds and blunt force trauma, according to investigators.

Ferguson was only charged with one count of murder in the death of Jill D'Amore on Tuesday, whose completed autopsy indicated her death was a homicide.

The state's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will complete autopsies on Bruno D'Amore and Arpino on Tuesday.

Framingham Public Schools confirmed to WCVB that Ferguson was employed by the district as a campus aide from Feb. 4, 2021, until March 7, 2023.
