“Since I first joined the Newton-Wellesley family in the hospital’s laboratory a quarter-century ago, I have grown to deeply appreciate its significance to our patients and our community,” Moloney said in a statement last week.

Moloney called Newton-Wellesley hospital “truly a special place,” pointing to the hospital's level of care close to patients’ homes as part of the broader Mass General Brigham health care network.

“It is a privilege to work alongside so many exceptional colleagues, and I am excited to now have the opportunity to lead this remarkable organization and continue to build its legacy,” Moloney said.

Hospital officials last week described Moloney as “a seasoned healthcare executive.” Among her accomplishments, officials noted work to develop and expand hospital cancer, breast imaging and ambulatory care services. Officials also noted work to implement a new electronic medical system at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

Officials said Moloney has overseen recent Newton-Wellesley capacity management and mitigation efforts as well as infrastructure upgrades, among other things.
