Pro Arte Strings Shine in "Strings of Light" Concert

The Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra welcomes conductor Adrian Slywotsky for a string-focused concert titled "Strings of Light" on Sunday, June 9th, 3PM at Second Church in Newton, MA.

The program highlights the talents of Pro Arte's string section. The evening opens with Vivaldi's energetic Concerto for Strings in D Major, followed by Pēteris Vasks' meditative Adagio from Cello Concerto No. 2 "Presence," featuring principal cellist Steven Laven as soloist.

Composer Reena Esmail's "Teen Murti" blends Eastern and Western musical traditions, while the concert concludes with a unique arrangement of Beethoven's first string quartet by Pro Arte cellist Leo Eguchi.
