Downpours across the state today will give way to one of the most dangerously hot days of the year tomorrow.

Wednedesday has seen downpours all over the state with heavier ones rolling through from the east throughout the early afternoon.

According to Weather.com, heavy rain will pound the Worcester area and parts of Essex County around noon; Essex County might get the heaviest sustained rainfall. The Boston area will be getting soaked close to 1 p.m., with the rain tapering off just after 3. Plymouth County and the Cape should see lighter rain around the same time. Thursday's Heat Advisory will be in effect from noon until 7 p.m.
