The Worcester Youth Orchestras (WYO) is central Massachusetts’ largest and premiere youth orchestra program. It is comprised of four orchestras, a jazz program, wind ensemble and chamber music program. Auditions are being held for the 2024-2025 season which starts in September 2024. Admission is open to all students grades 12 and under who play a string, wind, brass, percussion or harp/keyboard. In residence at Mechanics Hall, the organization presents multiple concerts at Mechanics as well as around Worcester County. Drawing from more than 60 communities and schools, the Worcester Youth Orchestras is Central Massachusetts' premiere youth orchestra program representing the finest talent in the area. Students enjoy weekly rehearsals, coachings and masterful performances under the direction of talented conductors and teaching artists. Be a part of this incredible organization, now in its 77th year! WYO is a place to make music as well as make lifelong friends. We hope you will join us for an incredible year of music making and community.&nbsp;
Interested in traveling to Europe and performing at world class concert halls with a live radio broadcast? Then audition for the Worcester Youth Orchestras for an opportunity to tour with WY Symphony. Auditions will be held in person on Tuesday, August 27 and Thursday, August 29 from 3:30pm to 7:00pm at the WYO Offices at Mechanics Hall. All families are eligible for financial aid and scholarships, WYO is passionately committed to ensuring any child can participate regardless of their circumstances.
