NHHA kicks off its 'Making Spirits Bright' Holiday Campaign

Northborough Helping Hands Association's holiday program needs community support to assist Northborough families and seniors in need.

Northborough Helping Hands Association, Inc. (NHHA) is busy checking their lists this October. Their “Making Spirits Bright” holiday outreach program assists Northborough families and senior citizens in need each November. Community members have the opportunity to sponsor a gift, a child, or a grocery gift card through Wednesday, November 1.

NHHA collaborates with town social service programs to identify the Northborough families needing assistance. The program’s goal is to raise $12,000 to provide gift cards to the parents, so they can personally purchase needed clothing or a special toy from the child’s wish list. In addition, grocery gift cards are provided to senior citizens and singles that are in need.
Last year NHHA served 156 children and 64 seniors for the holidays. The gift cards will be distributed during the organization’s annual Thanksgiving event, which provides recipients a turkey with all the fixings.

How can you help?
A donation of $75 will sponsor one child or $25 will sponsor one gift. You can also sponsor a grocery card for a senior for $50. Monetary donations are being requested so the gift cards purchased by NHHA can be tailored to each family before distribution. The deadline to donate is Wednesday, November 1.
