July 4th Fireworks 2022 Near Norwood

NORWOOD, MA — Cities and counties across the country continue to bring back many of the traditional Independence Day activities that were either canceled or modified the last two years. July 4 is just around the corner, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you in 2022.

We have all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening around Norwood so you can start planning now.

In neighboring Walpole, there will be fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m. at Joe Morgan Memorial Field at 220 School St. near the library.

Heading further south on Interstate 95 to Sharon, there will be an Independence Day celebration on Sunday, July 3 at Memorial Park at 120 Canton St. beginning at 4 p.m. Details will continue to be updated as the date approaches, so check back to this link for updates.

The festivities will kick off with a bicycle and doll carriage parade beginning at 4 p.m. The parade will travel on Beach St. to the Memorial Park bandstand. All participants receive a frozen treat at the bandstand. At 4:30 p.m., there will be a children's show there featuring family performers to kick off the afternoon attractions.

Ongoing activities starting at 4:30pm:

  • A disc jockey is planned to play music at the bandstand.
  • Sharon's ninth food truck fair, featuring some of the Boston area's best food trucks, plus food provided by local Sharon organizations. There will be a variety of options, from chicken fingers to dumplings to Middle Eastern cuisine.
  • Carnival games
  • A longtime Sharon Independence Day tradition is the Roaming Railroad trackless train ride for kids.
  • If you go, be sure to take pictures. You can participate in the annual event's photo contest.
  • There will be live music performances on the bandstand from 6:30-9:30 p.m., featuring the Riverboat Stompers.
  • At 7:30 p.m., there will be a pie eating contest on the bandstand lawn. It is free to enter, and the signup is at the main gate. There will be a $50 prize for the winner.

The day will culminate in the launching of the fireworks at 9:30 p.m. from a barge on Lake Massapoag, located at 196 Pond St.

If you plan on venturing to downtown Boston, the Boston Pops will hold their traditional fireworks spectacular performance for the first time in three years.

The show at the Hatch Memorial Shell on the Charles River Esplanade will feature not only the Boston Pops under the direction of conductor Keith Lockhart for the 27th year, but the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, the Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes & Drums, and special guest performers to be announced.
