Cynthia L. Crean

January 16, 1952 - July 26, 2021

Salem - CYNTHIA (PHIPPS) CREAN PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY ON July 26,2021 at 69 years old, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Beverly Ma January 16, 1952, Daughter of Edward and Helen Phipps. Cindy was a graduate of Salem State University and worked as a school secretary for the Salem School Department from 1978 till her retirement in 2012, working at the Bates Elementary School and later working in the transportation department. After retirement she worked at Bertini’s restaurant as a Keno host. Where she enjoyed the many customers and friends she met.

Cindy will be remembered for her sense of humor and dedication to family and always making others feel welcome when with her. Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays were a family tradition at the Crean household as Cindy would host family and relatives for holiday dinners.

Cindy enjoyed travel especially the many trips to Las- Vegas where she always said” you can’t take it with you and there is no price on fun”. Cindy was truly a beautiful person who touched many people during her life and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Neil Crean, her daughters, Kimberly Crean Prifti and husband, Michael of Peabody, Amanda Crean of Salem and son, Keith Crean and wife, Heather of Danvers, grandchildren, Janisa Crean, Aliza Oveido, Logan Prifti, Alexis Prifti, Kayleigh Crean, Caden Crean and Luke Crean. She was pre-deceased by her sister, Brenda Phipps, brother, Lawrence Phipps and brother, Ronald Camire. She also leaves her lifelong friends, Kathy Allen, Joanne Peters, Denyce Deroche and Polly Bertini.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Monday, August 9, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 2 to 6 p.m. to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
