As an audience member and a huge fan of live theatre, I'm excited to share that Americana Theatre Company (ATC) is bringing the classic thriller "Murder on the Orient Express" to the Spire Center for Performing Arts from July 5 through 21. This production promises to be an exhilarating and entertaining experience for audiences of all ages, including younger theatre enthusiasts.

Adapted by Ken Ludwig from Agatha Christie's iconic novel, "Murder on the Orient Express" has been described as a "fast-moving, powerful theatrical locomotive" by the Hartford Courant. The story takes place just after midnight when a snowdrift halts the luxurious Orient Express in its tracks. As the train travels from Istanbul to Western Europe in 1934, the passengers find themselves in a chilling mystery. An American tycoon is discovered dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, with the door locked from the inside. With a killer on board, the passengers must rely on the brilliant detective Hercule Poirot to solve the case before the murderer strikes again.

The cast, featuring Jesse M. Sullivan as Hercule Poirot, David Friday as M. Bouc, and Erin Friday as Princess Dragomiroff, among other talented actors, brings this suspenseful tale to life. Derek Martin, the show director, and ATC founder, expresses his enthusiasm: "We're energized to thrill our audiences with one of the sharpest, funniest, intriguing, and popular Agatha Christie stories scripted for the stage. Ken Ludwig has outdone himself with his fast-paced adaptation. We’re sure our summer audiences will be captivated by another story that entertains and matters, performed by another fantastic Americana cast."
