Did you ever dream your darling Generation Zers would be raiding your closet for shoulder pads and track suits and members-only jackets?

Well, according to Zulily, the national online retailer, if Massachusetts kids can’t find them in your closet, they’re finding them online.

“Our fashion buyers and experts noticed a trend in what our vendors are selling, what consumers are buying and what their very own kids want to wear,” according to a press release from Zulily, “Experts examined the top kids clothing and accessory purchases and determined that popular trends from the ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s are definitely coming back around.”

And for Massachusetts purchases, the top decade is the 1980s, Zulily reports. The top 1980s clothing item? That would be ’80s leggings.

For those of you that are cringing at the idea of parachute pants and Lee Press On Nails, rest easy: Massachusetts came in 15th for ‘80s purchases across the country. Yes, that means there are 14 states where the hair is bigger and the neon is brighter.

So what are your kids clamoring for as you do your back-to-school shopping? Are they wanting 1980s-inspired gear or is there another decade that has caught their eye? Tell us in the comments (and if you’re brave, tell us how much of that fabulous ‘80s gear you’re still holding onto).
