Red Sox Name Mike Hazen New General Manager
The Boston Red Sox have named Mike Hazen, 38, their new general manager.

The Boston Red Sox have named Mike Hazen their new general manager, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported Thursday afternoon. Hazen will be promoted from assistant general manager, a position he had held since 2011.
Hazen originally became the team’s assistant GM when Ben Cherington took the reigns as GM following Theo Epstein’s departure for Chicago.

The 38-year-old will also serve as senior vice president under Dave Dombrowski, who recently took over as President of Baseball Operations.
The GM vacancy opened up following Cherington’s decision to leave the team back in August.
