Redesigned Fallon Field Reopens This Month

A spray deck, tower climber, young children's area and more await. (Some parts will have to wait for summer, of course.)

BOSTON, MA — Mayor Marty Walsh will mark the reopening of Roslindale's Fallon Field playground with a ribbon-cutting this month.

It's the culmination of a comprehensive renovation of the entire playground, with a design and construction budget of $910,000 funded by the mayor's Capital Improvement Plan.

It's not quite the right time of year to enjoy many of the amenities, but come next summer, new features of the park will include a first water spray, a tower climber for children age 5-2 with a custom slide extension to the lower level of the play area, a wide embankment slide, swings and playhouse for age 2-5 and a group spinner and swing.

The big day is Dec. 17, at 2 p.m.
