Roxbury Community College Calls for Nominations for 50 Pioneers

Nomination deadline: November 15, 2022

In preparation for their 50th anniversary celebration, Roxbury Community College (RCC) has launched a search for 50 Pioneers. They will be honoring 49 individuals who have made significant contributions to the College over the past 50 years. These are people who were and are trailblazers of RCC and who best exemplify the impact the college has had on the community. The 50th Pioneer will represent the collective contributions of the Greater Roxbury community.

From now through November 15, 2022, RCC is inviting the public to nominate candidates to be considered. Each nominee must have demonstrated a significant contribution to RCC over the last 50 years. While the College opened in 1973, people who made earlier contributions which led to RCC’s founding will also be considered.

The RCC 50 Pioneers Committee will be chaired by Steven Tompkins, RCC Board of Trustees Chair. The committee will be composed of RCC trustees, foundation board members, and RCC community members who will help define an equitable review/selection process for choosing the final 50 Pioneers based on the following criteria:
