Thousands of Boston Students Still Don't Know Where They'll Go To School

With the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year set to start in just a few weeks, thousands of Boston Public School students still have no idea where they will be attending classes.

On Wednesday, Boston Public Schools announced over 8,000 students still remained on a waiting list.

Superintendent Tommy Chang said a software glitch has forced employees to assign students to different schools by hand.

Chang apologized for the delay overnight, Tweeting the “team worked very hard to ensure high accuracy.”

Parents and students are generally made aware of the classroom assignments by July, according to the Boston Herald.

“We’ll do better, and we hope parents understand,” Chang told the Herald. “We will get this better next year.”
