Salem High Theater Club Brings 'Addams Family' To Stage This Week

The production is open to the public for shows on Friday and Saturday nights and a Sunday matinee at the high school.

SALEM, MA — More than 60 Salem High students are contributing to this week's Theater Department production of "The Addams Family" on the high school stage.

There will be three performances this weekend with Friday and Saturday night shows at 7:30 and a Sunday matinee at 2.

SHS Theater Director Leah Hamilton-French said the story is one that will appeal to both the young and old with the public invited to see the students' talents both on stage and as part of the production crew.

"I think audiences will love this comedy featuring beloved and quirky characters, the Addams Family, with catchy tunes and original choreography," Hamilton-French said.

This story centers around the character of Wednesday Addams, who is now grown up and is in love with a sweet, smart man from a respectable family.

Wednesday reveals the relationship to her father, Gomez Addams, but asks him to keep the secret from her mother, Morticia. The plot thickens when The Addams Family hosts a dinner for the boyfriend and his parents.

Presale admission is $13 for adults, $10 for active military, senior citizens and students purchased online. Admission at the door is $15.
