SHREWSBURY, MA — Summer is almost over for Shewsbury students. The first day of school in the district is coming up on Aug. 28.

Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

  • Start date: Aug. 27
  • Early release days: Dec. 10, Jan. 7, Feb. 4, March 4, April 1
  • Labor Day: Aug, 30, Sept. 2
  • Indigenous People's/Columbus Day: Oct. 14
  • Election Day and parent conferences: Nov. 5
  • Veterans' Day: Nov. 11
  • Thanksgiving break: Nov. 27 to 29
  • Professional development, no school: Dec. 10
  • Winter break: Dec. 23 to Jan. 1
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school: Jan. 20
  • February break: Feb. 17 to 21
  • April break: April 21 to 25
  • Memorial Day: May 26
  • High school graduation: May 29
  • Last day: June 13 (with no snow days)
